I had this spot scoped out for sunset from earlier in the day. I got there just in time to catch the sun setting at the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. The ice caves only open when the ice on Lake Superior is strong enough to support it. Sometimes it is several years between openings.
My wife and I are amateur photographers who live in Wisconsin. We enjoy getting out in nature as often as we can and consequently have lots of opportunities to get photos. We have traveled all over the country, but we particularly enjoy traveling and photographing locally around Wisconsin, Minnesota and Upper Michigan. We hope you enjoy our photography.
